What you will learn
Find your news
Understand what makes an announcement newsworthy, who it matters to, and how to identify a useful story angle.
Organize your facts
Use the 5W1H questions (who, what, when, where, why, and how) and learn how the inverted pyramid puts the most important information first.
Write your headline and lead
Follow a worked example, then write your own headline and opening paragraph (the “lead”), checking that your news is clear, specific, and grounded in real facts.

Frequently asked questions
Can I join from outside Malaysia?
Yes. The workshop is online and taught in English. The announced schedule will include the time zone so you can check your local time.
Do I need an announcement ready?
No. You may bring a real announcement with information you are permitted to share, or use the practice example provided.
Will I finish a full press release?
The guided exercise focuses on the headline and opening paragraph, the parts that decide whether a journalist keeps reading. You will leave with a template and checklist to complete the rest of your press release on your own.
Why are there two prices?
Malaysian participants pay in ringgit (RM99) and international participants pay in US dollars (US$25). Payment details will be shared when registration opens.

No. It is free, does not reserve a seat, and does not require payment. You will simply be among the first to hear when the date is set.
